The Queen by a Child and On the death of the Queen, by Barbara Liddell
The Queen By a Child
She's a little old lady in a sparkly hat
She can have what she wants
There's no doubt about that
Go to bed when she likes, and not brush her hair
She can leave all her carrots, and choose what to wear
She does NOT have to work and get home "Much too late"
She can leave all her toys out and her room in a state
They say she has power and riches and gold
Like the princess in Frozen but just not as cold!
I think she was magic coz the day that she died
My Nan and my Mummy turned sad and they cried
They said "We won't see her dear face again"
Then stood out to see her in the cold and the rain!
And when they came home and I asked where they'd been
They said "We've been saying goodbye to the Queen"
Don't know where she went to, perhaps she's in space
I hope that she's gone to a very nice place
If she's gone up tp Heaven and that's very high
She can play with my 'BLOON' that went up to the sky.
On the death of the Queen.
I knew it must happen sooner or later, that you'd have to leave us our surrogate mater,
When our parents were gone you still were there
Two Royal Step Parents to guide and to care,
All our lives you have been there our rocks and our stay, a constant reminder everyday,
Your love for each other so easy to see,
More love from your Country there never could be,
The feeing was mutual and easily felt,
The glint in your eyes made the hardest heart melt,
Your Promise of Duty was filled hundredfold,
And through your whole life your commitment untold,
The weight of the world on a very young bride,
Only made lighter by the Prince by your side,
You led us with ove that compared with no other
Whilst juggling the roles of a Queen and Grandmother
Our hearts fill with Thanks, May Your Dear Soul Be Blessed
Lying next your Beloved in perpetual rest..
Elizabeth The Well Beloved perhaps you'll be named
Elizabeth The Dutiful could also be claimed,
Elizabeth The Great yet might be seen,
But To All Who Have Loved You, you'll just Be Our Queen.
